The Base plus Weight Less Offset module by State Zone allows you to specify different shipping
rates based on the method of shipping AND the weight of items AND
the state the item is being shipped to. This MIVA Merchant module evaluates the
"ship to" state and displays its methods and rates applicable to the
destination. This prevents customers from selecting its lower rates which may
not be available for them. Not compatible with the current google checkout module as that module does not use the customer's address to select the shipping methods available.
This module is identical to the Base + Weight Shipping by State Zone,
except that it has the added feature of subtracting a store
owner specified weight from the total weight before applying the amount per
unit calculation. For example: if you set a base charge of $3.20 and amount
per pound charge of 45 cents and an offset amount of 1 pound, a one pound
package would cost $3.20. Without the offset, the charge would have been
$3.65. After that offset, the normal calculation of amount per unit applies.
The store owner can specify a different offset for each method of shipping.
