Some 3rd party modules require editing of the mmui.mv if
you are using the MIVA Merchant Look and Feel as your
store's user interface. Some store owners feel uncomfortable
editing that file and have asked if we would provide that
service. We generally do not install modules for you, but
we can provide the editing service if you provide us with
your mmui.mv via email attachment. The charge for this is
based on the number of edits. The base charge is $6. Then
for each edit there is a $3 additional charge.
Special situation if you have Merchant 4.14 or newer. The
mmui.mv source file does not normally reside on your server.
You have to get a file called mmlsk-mmui.mv from MIVA Corp
or your host for the specific version of Merchant that you have. In the instructions below, you will not FTP the mmui.mvc from your server. Rather you will provide us with the mmlsk-mmui.mv in a ZIP file.
There is a $20 additional charge for compiling
that source file after the edits. If you are unable to obtain the
mmlsk-mmui.mv for your store (all licensed Merchant users can
get that file), you will not be able to use modules which require
editing of the mmui.mv. Note: we have unedited copies of the file for most versions of Merchant. So if you cannot get the mmlsk-mmui.mv, contact us and we will discuss the best option. You will need to install the OpenUI
instead for Merchant 4.14 and newer stores if you choose not to edit the mmlsk-mmui.mv and recompile.
- Review the applicable
install notes to determine the number of edits
required for each module you want edits performed by us
- Example: Go to
Addendum.
- Depending on the screen you want questions to appear, it
will be 4 or 5 edits
- If you want to display responses in the email, it will
be an additional 1 edit
- If you want to display responses in the batch report,
it will be 1 edit
- Thus Addendum may require up to 7 edits
- Sum all of the edits for all of the modules you want
the mmui.mv edited for
- Enter the total number of edits you want done by us
into the space provided
- Complete the required attribute inputs (enter primary
domain and the number of stores within that domain that
the module will be used)
- Enter the names of the modules we are inserting the
edits for
- Add this product to the basket, make payment and
checkout
- FTP your mmui.mv from the server to your hard drive
(note: we do not FTP to and from your site, that is your
responsibility in this editing service)
- Make a backup of your original mmui.mv and keep it
for recovery purposes
- ZIP the mmui.mv into a zip file
- Attach the zip file to an email and reference the
order in which you paid for the edits
- After we return the edited file to you, unzip it and
FTP it back to the original location on the server
