One Sheet

One sheets are the most common posters seen at theaters. They are usually 27 inches wide and 40-41 inches high. The trend with newer posters is the shorter 40 inches. They are printed on paper stock. Until the mid-80's posters were folded to facilitate easier shipping. Since that time, posters are generally, but not always, sent to the theaters rolled. The one sheet posters come in both single sided and double sided printing. The double sided printing was begun to improve the visual appeal of the poster when lighting was placed behind it in the newer backlit boxes. In addition to these formats, the one sheet size is infrequently used for the lenticular posters. These posters display a different image as the viewer changes viewing position.
