CATEGORY IMPORT AND EXPORT OF FLAT FILES

The Category Import module imports category codes, names, parent codes and status (active/inactive) from a flat file into your MIVA Merchant store.

With the large number of people setting up their 5.0 stores at completely different servers or directories from their older stores, we found a perfect compliment to our product attribute import module is this category import module. Easily create a flat file of your category codes and names, then import that file's data directly into your new store. The module handles main categories and multi-tiered subcategories.

Since it verifies the existance of categories before adding them, it can also be used to add new categories to the store and you won't end up with double entries for the same category.

No category import would be complete without a category export module. With the included category export module you can export from one store and import the categories into a new store using the category import module. The flat file is automatically formatted with the category code, name, parent code and status (active/inactive). In Merchant 5x we include the option to email the export file to your designated email address to save having to FTP it from the server.
