Export your MIVA Merchant product data in the basic file format
required for Yahoo Product Submit (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.)
using this module.
The data feed submissions automate inclusion in their
ecommerce search directory.
Fields included: code, product-url, name, description
(html removed), price, image-url, merchant-category,
shopping-category . See "Limitations" below for products
not included in this module release. This MIVA
Merchant plugin module works with both MMUI and OpenUI.
No mmui.mv edits required.
Most agree, Yahoo! is the king of commercial and non-commercial
directories on the Internet. Their new venture to create a listing of
actual items for sale across the Internet, rather than
pages with hits on keywords, is a bold attempt to better
target customers and buyers in a symbiotic relationship.
This is a giant leap in eCommerce, providing comparison
shopping using the Yahoo! Product Submit index.

A module designed for the specific purpose of creating
a data feed for Yahoo! Product Submit (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.),
rather than a generic data export can include features
which make it the best solution for the task:
- Include an affiliate code in the URLs so that you
can better track where actual sales are coming from
- If your store is a single store in the domain, you
can remove the Store_Code from the URL to aid in search
engine spidering
If you are using our Flexible Product Description (recommended) or
our Edit More (only for the very experienced) modules, the
additional field data can be added to the description for
the general products data feed or as separate fields for
books, music and videos.

Submit request to Yahoo! Inc. for acceptance into the
program

Install this module and run it
Once accepted, FTP resulting datafeed flat file to Yahoo!
Check your pages in Yahoo! Product Submit (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.)
when they show up
Limitations:
Currently the module can only be used for the general
products export for Merchant 4.x uncompiled. With the
compiled version (Merchant 4.14 and newer) of the module,
you can export book, music, and video type products if
you are using one of the additional field methods above.
This module is no longer available as a separate
product. Its capabilities have been incorporated into the
Template Data Feed.
