Lobby Card
Lobby cards measure 14 inches wide by 11 inches high. They are printed on card stock. The weight of the stock varies, with older films usually of heavier stock. Lobby cards usually come in sets of eight cards. Occasionally, there are nine cards in a set (particularly Disney sets), but sets vary from four to as many as twenty-four cards in a set. Many sets contain a title card plus seven scene cards. Title cards vary from simple printing of the title and cast to an image similar to the half sheet poster. Presently lobby cards are rarely issued in the US, so most cards related to newer releases come from the United Kingdom or other non-US locations.

American Graffiti was the first huge success of the director, George Lucas. It is a coming-of-age movie about teenagers on their last night of the summer vacation. The soundtrack highlights this fast paced movie, complete with hilarious hijinks. The car cruisin' scenes feature many of the classics of the 50's. This movie spawned the TV series, Happy Days, and was also followed with a much less popular sequel. Many of the stars of today launched their big screen careers or debuted in this movie: Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Paul LeMat, Charlie Martin Smith, Candy Clark, Cindy Williams, Kathleen Quinlan, and several others. George Lucas went on to produce the smash hit, Star Wars.

Very Good. Brilliant colors. Two minor scratches in the title section in the upper right. Lower left corner crease. None of these detract significantly from the image as you can see in the scan.

Coburn (Dr. Sidney Schaefer), with too many secrets in his head, hides out with the counter-culture. The hippy chick, Snow White, says the immortal line, "let's smell the flowers". At which point she and Coburn head off to the pasture to do it. In the background is the monotonous singing of "Changes" by the guitar player. A balloon rises from the pasture with Snow's dress attached. This coincides with the unforgetable scene where assassins kill each other off as they move closer and closer to the couple. As the camera zooms out, we see Coburn and the nude, hippy chick walking away with dead agents lying all over the field.

In addition to the lead up to one of this movie's most memorable scenes, this card is one of the most colorful lobby cards ever made.
