This module allows customers to place an order at a MIVA Merchant Storefront Development System from MIVA Corp which they will then pay for via PayPal. This module integrates with PayPal's "Website Payments Standard". This payment module is licensed per domain. No additional store licenses are required if used within the same mall. Features: - Accept payments via paypal's "Website Payments Standard" in your store - Instant Payment Notification (IPN) sends a silent post to update the order as soon as the customer pays - Does not require or wait for the customer to return to your store to post the order in admin - Set store default currency - Adjust conversion rate from store currency to USD when the store's currency is not one of paypal.com's directly supported currencies - Set the store's paypal.com custom checkout screen to use when order is from your store - Set the paypal.com return to your Merchant store button text - Display payment icons for the payment methods at paypal.com on your checkout screens - Configurable drop down payment selection prompt and label - Configurable checkout screen message before going to paypal - Configurable invoice screen message - Configurable message for module token capable emails - Configurable message when IPN post from paypal.com is delayed due to heavy Internet traffic - Security settings to reduce hacker fraud - PayPal usage report module in admin - Phone In Payment Info module included for use with credit card terminal or virtual terminal - PayPal module can even be used in a store which has other payment options available to the customer - User interface neutral; use in any of the MIVA Merchant UIs Feature Details: If your PayPal account is either a "Business" or "Premier" PayPal account, this module guides the customer to the PayPal payment screens so that they do not get to the invoice screen without properly entering pay data. If they are new paypal customers, it pre-loads their customer info from Merchant into their new paypal account. When the customer clicks the Pay button at the PayPal site, the PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) sends a silent update back to your payment history file which can be viewed in your Merchant admin:order edit screen (business and premier accounts). Unlike some other modules, if the customer does not return to Merchant, his order will still be processed and email notifications sent. When returning to your store, the invoice page will be displayed. You can also add additional instructions to inform customers what to expect at the PayPal site through the admin interface. PayPal runs the credit card or account balance authorization using it's web accept and sends you a confirmation email and posts the authorization back to your Merchant store. You match the Merchant notification emails with the PayPal confirmation emails. For added security, it is advisable to check the status on the PayPal web site (linked within Merchant admin). Once you verify that the money has been transferred to your account, you can ship the products. The module works with MMUI, KCUI, OpenUI, page templates, and store morph technology. If you want the transaction number to appear in the merchant notification emails, you will need to use an email module that has that capability, e.g. our Mail Manager, OpenUI emails, or other 3rd party emails which can display payment methods and data. Note: This inclusion of payment type in the OpenUI emails cannot be used with MIVA Engine version 3.9602 due to a bug in the MIVA Empressa Engine. However, you can still use other 3rd party emails with that old version of Merchant and Empressa. Very few stores are still using that version of Empressa. Included is a report module. You can list orders by any time frame and specify only orders with a specific product code in them. You can also sort it by state or country according to their paypal.com account registration. You can include an invoice message which can be included in the invoice screen and certain emails (like Mail Manager and OpenUI emails). You can set the store's paypal.com custom checkout screen to use when order is from your MIVA Merchant store. This custom checkout screen at paypal.com can be different from your custom checkout screen you use from other income sources, e.g. eBay. After the customer makes the payment at paypal.com, they can click a button to return to your store. You can configure the text in that button, e.g. Return to Emporium Plus to complete this order. This module is particularly useful for the small sized Mom and Pop store which does not want the added expense of setting up Merchant credit card accounts and having to meet minimum sales quotas. Additionally, it is a nice option for the big guys who want to offer additional payment methods besides their regular credit card merchant account. As such, it makes online payment possible for those customers who don't have credit cards but have built up an online balance through their own sales, e.g. through eBay. PayPal is the predominant method of payment at eBay. There are over 78,000,000 PayPal accounts. Do not overlook these as potential customers at your store. Over 42,000 websites accept PayPal and are listed in the PayPal Shops at paypal.com. Can you afford not to be in that list? PayPal accounts are available to customers in the United States and many other countries around the world. This PayPal module allows the store owner to designate any of several currencies which PayPal accepts, e.g. USD, CAD, EUR, etc. See paypal.com site for info on the current international currencies you can have as a default. For those currencies not directly accepted, this paypal module allows for a conversion to USD from the currency your store is using. In some cases, customers may have problems with their PayPal account. Take a look at the virtual terminal service that PayPal (paypal.com) offers (for a monthly fee) as this might solve the issue with those few customers who cannot use PayPal or do not want to use PayPal. Included in our paypal.zip file for Merchant 4.14 - 4.24 and 5.x is our Phone In Payment module ($20.00 if ordered separately). This included offer is only available with the product code 1AA00004. 08/09/2005 This provides a Merchant 5 store (and Merchant 4 I'm sure) with a MUCH more professional PayPal (and credit cards via paypal) checkout option. It's far superior to the standard paypal module, and has customization options that can assist in making checkout via PayPal more professional and streamlined. For instance, if you use PayPal as your only source of credit card processing, then you can customize the payment option pulldown that Merchant Displays to reflect the actual payment methods allowed via this paypal Module. Instead of the payment option on checkout just saying "Pay by: PayPal" you could make the option say "Pay by: Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal". Not many customers realize that PayPal now allows credit card transactions without PayPal membership for the one paying and this module can help dispell that misconception. Add on top of that various enhancements that occur between the store's hand-off to PayPal and return, Bill Weiland has done a masterful job of providing any small business what they really need if they need to operate without the prohibitive costs of an Internet Merchant Account and major Credit Card Gateway account.

02/23/2005 I was using the Miva supplied Paypal module but it was not sending the buyer's shipping address properly. This module works far better giving you more control invoice information and the use of customized Paypal screens, plus better reporting and yes, it does send the correct shipping information. I recommend this Paypal module over the Miva built-in module.

This module will streamline your checkout process by allowing information to be carried into the pay pal site from your Miva Store. This means that the customer has less typing to do for standard information (address, name, shipping info., etc...) which customers love. As always, William is VERY availiable should you need any help. Great product and great service at Emporium Plus. Not always the case with other module developers.

Well so far, I have bought the PayPal module and coupon redemption, and plan to get more! Actually modules are quite addictive! The PayPal module was a treat to install. Easy easy easy! Without it I would not have a store to be honest as I need the module to make sales via credit card. If you shop around you will see EmporiumPlus.com is far cheaper than a lot of other places. Some of the same modules offered here are ridiculously priced elsewhere, sometimes double and triple the price. Compare the prices and you will see. Anyway I am a happy customer, keep up the good work emporiumplus!
