Scarce lobby card from the original 1976 release of Taxi Driver.
This was director Martin Scorsese's landmark film from the 70's.
Robert DeNiro was nominated for best actor. He appeared in
nearly every scene; as the streets of New York are seen through
his eyes. Jodie Foster was nominated for best supporting actress.
The performance by the 13 year old Jodie was brilliant and broke
her out of the sweet and innocent roles.
The film is a character study of a Vietnam vet, played by Robert
DeNiro. He's an insomniac who occupies his nights by driving a
New York taxi. Much of his time is spent in adult theaters and
the seedy parts of the city. He's disgusted by the sleeze around
him and he takes on a personal crusade to save a hooker, played
by the very young, Jodie Foster. In his twisted mind, he believes a
bloody killing spree would fix the world. Amongst all this insanity,
De Niro gets a crush on gorgeous Cybill Shepherd.
This scene card depicts the waif, Jodie, and DeNiro talking.
