As condition of our copyright, you cannot re-sell or transfer your license of these modules to other people or companies. While you can incorporate the modules into stores which you do not own, but are hired to customize, the modules are licensed to you. You are also responsible for the technical support to stores which you have customized using these modules.
While the terms developer and "hired to customize" are fairly clear to most people, some have asked that I further clarify the copyright status of CIM Tool Kit modules and applets.
At no time does this license permit you to re-sell these modules by simply charging a fee. When used in stores which you, as a developer, have been hired to customize, the expectation is that you have a contractual agreement between you and the store owner to modify the look and feel of their store, not simply act as an intermediary in the purchase of these modules. Further, in this developer role, you are expected to install into the store and make necessary modifications to Merchant files so as to make the modules fully operational with initial configuration settings completed. You may not advertise these modules in a shopping cart or store system so as to directly compete against Emporium Plus unless you are a licensed re-seller of these modules. In addition to Emporium Plus, the only licensed re-sellers of CIM Tool Kit modules are Design Extend and Santafe Mall.
You may not remove the copyright notice of the module owner, William Weiland or Miva Corp (as applicable), from any module at any time. If you make modifications to a module, you may add your name and licensed by verbage, but the original copyright must remain intact.
This license applies to all CIM Tool Kit modules.
If this is unclear to you and you need further clarification, please email me before purchasing the CIM Tool Kit license.
